London Travel Guide

What could be better than spending Christmas on the beautiful street decorations of London, the warm Christmas markets and the festive atmosphere of the London districts.

This winter, I’ve had the chance to spend a few days in London with my sister, so I made up a small recap of our stay and some ideas for you to make the most out of your stay in London ;)

Where to stay

For a quality stay in London I highly recommend you to find a hotel in the Paddington area. Several underground lines serve this neighborhood as well as bus and train lines, so it will be very easy for you to walk around the city and get back to the hotel without any problem. The area is quite quiet, the houses are elegant and there are a few small restaurants in the area.

Park Grand Paddington Court London

We stayed at the Park Grand Paddington Court 27 Devonshire Terrace, London W2 3DP. Very well located this establishment is easily accessible by underground or bus (4 min walk from paddington station). The rooms are well equipped, clean and the staff is very helpful.

What to do

One thing about London is that it's impossible to get bored ! There are so many things to see and discover, from exhibitions, museums, vintage stores, to food markets,... there is literally something for everyone !

Here are some of the activities we had the opportunity to do during our stay.

The New Black Vanguard exhibition, Saatchi Gallery.

This exhibition featuring 15 black photographers from New York to Lagos is a celebration of black creativity in all its forms.

“It highlights different perspectives on race, gender, beauty and power”. Antwaun Sargent

Stacey Gillian Abe exposition.

Is an autobiographical work in which artist Stacey Gillian Abe exposes her views on gender, spirituality and culture through her paintings.

"Abe's autobiographical painting explores the idea that black identity exists without any visible means of support" unit London

Brick Lane Vintage Market.

You'll find a melting pot of vintage stores gathered in one place. Clothes, accessories, vintage vinyls,... ( ps: prices are quite expensive but it's still worth the visit)

Skygarden.

It’s the perfect place to get a great view of London. The visit is free (I advise you to take your tickets well in advance) and you can even eat or have a drink there.

Morley’s Chicken Brick Lane : For those of you who watch Amelia Dimoldenberg's chicken shop dates, you'll understand that it was impossible for me to go to London without stopping by the iconic Morley's Chicken. Not only is the restaurant's vibe colorful, but the food is a 10/10 and at a really affordable price!
