This year, I had the pleasure to celebrate my 21st birthday in Punta Cana. I went there with my friend and we were carried away by the beautiful sunsets, the lovely palm trees and the festive atmosphere of the Dominican Republic. After 10 days there, I can assure you that we are both ready to start this new academic year on the right foot.

Here is an overview of our stay and some tips to make the most out of your stay in Punta Cana.

Where to stay

We stayed at the five-star Grand Princess Bavaro hotel located in Playas de Bavaro, 23000, Punta Cana. This big, modern, and elegant complex is the perfect place to have an excellent vacation.

There are a variety of restaurants, several swimming pools, and to top it all off, it's located right on the beach.

We booked the bungalow suite, and it is probably the most spacious room I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. It has a small living room, a bathroom, and a terrace. A real apartment !

If you want to spend your vacation in a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere, I highly recommend this hotel.

What to do

For the trip, I booked all our activities online, and I guarantee you that it is the best thing to do before going to Punta Cana.

The prices of the activities on site are exorbitant because they tend to double or even triple the prices of the excursions sold by the local agencies.

It is therefore important, if you are going on a budget, to plan and book your activities before the trip.

Zipline adventure in the forest.

If you are a nature lover, this activity is for you. You will have the chance to fly over the tropical forest while admiring the beauty of the Anamuya Mountains.

Parasailing in Bavaro, Punta Cana.

During this excursion, you will enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Punta Cana from a thrilling angle. If you want to feel a little adrenaline during your stay, I recommend this activity.

Dune Buggy Punta Cana

Get your scarf on and step on the gas in your buggie. The pilot in you will thank you for it !

House of Oliver rum distillery tour.

Discover the history and process of rum distillation while enjoying a degustation in a relaxing atmosphere. Rum will no longer have any secrets for you after this visit.

Where to party

Besides the beautiful beaches and palm trees, Punta Cana is THE place for party people. There is music everywhere from dusk until dawn, whether it’s in the streets, in the stores, or on the transportation. One thing is for sure: Dominicans know how to have fun.
